Southborough Pre-school was established in 2007 and was one of the top 2% in the country to achieve an outstanding Ofsted report. Our sister Pre-School Petts Wood East (Established in 2001) has also achieved this status. We are proud to have maintained this high quality of care and education in both settings ever since. Our Pre-School is a modular build unit set in the grounds of Southborough School. We are fortunate to have a secure, bright and spacious outdoor play area. We currently accommodate approximately 32 children per session, operating 10 sessions 5 days per week, 38 weeks per year, (term time only). The children are aged between 2-5 years old. We pride ourselves on the fact that we provide flexible, affordable childcare. The fifteen hours free entitlement can be accessed using a combination of all sessions provided.
In order to achieve Healthy Early Years London Bronze Award, settings/childminders have to meet standards in three core areas: Personal development, behaviour and welfare. Quality of teaching, learning and assessment. Effectiveness of leadership and management.
What is Millie’s Mark?
Millie’s Mark will be awarded as a special endorsement to childcare providers that go above and beyond these minimum requirements by having 100% of staff trained in paediatric first aid, and also ensuring that everything learned during the course is kept alive and in the forefront of practitioners’ minds so that they are confident, ready and capable.
When your setting gains the Millie’s Mark accreditation, you provide reassurance for your parents that all childcare practitioners know what do to in paediatric first aid situation.
It acknowledges that children’s safety is at the forefront of your mind when you care for the children.
Who can become accredited?
Millie’s Mark is available to nurseries, nursery schools, preschools, primary schools and childminders in England and Scotland.
