About Us

Southborough Pre-school was established in 2007 and was one of the top 2% in the country to achieve an outstanding Ofsted report. Our sister Pre-School Petts Wood East (Established in 2001) has also achieved this status. We are proud to have maintained this high quality of care and education in both settings ever since. Our Pre-School is a modular build unit set in the grounds of Southborough School.  We are fortunate to have a secure, bright and spacious outdoor play area. We currently accommodate approximately 32 children per session, operating 10 sessions 5 days per week, 38 weeks per year, (term time only). The children are aged between 2-5 years old.

Morning sessions - 09:05am-12:05pm

Afternoon sessions - 12:20pm-15:20pm

Daily sessions - 09:05am-15:20pm

We pride ourselves on the fact that we provide flexible, affordable childcare. The fifteen hours free entitlement can be accessed using a combination of all sessions provided.  We are also a registered provider for children eligible to claim two year old funding.

Registration Process

We recommend that you put your child’s name on our waiting list as early as their first birthday. Application forms can be either downloaded from our website or you can contact us directly to arrange an appointment to view our setting. The majority of our children join us at the beginning of our Autumn term. We do, however, accept children at any time during the academic year, subject to availability

Key Person

Each child joining the setting will have a key person appointed to them. it is the key persons responsibility to ensure that your child receives the best possible attention whilst in our care and to ensure that their developmental records are kept up-to-date and shared with you on a regular basis.

Fees

Our fees are payable per term, in advance.

Nappy Changing

Children who are not yet toilet trained are welcome. We do request that parents/carers provide a change of clothes and necessary care equipment. We are happy to work closely with our families in achieving their child’s independent toileting.

Early Years Foundation Stage

Every child deserves the best possible start in life and the support that enables them to fulfil their potential. Therefore our indoor and outdoor environment is carefully planned to ensure that we deliver the EYFS in a meaningful way for the children.  This means that children will learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe. It promotes teaching and learning to ensure the children’s ‘school readiness’ and gives children the broad range of knowledge and skills that provide the right foundation for good future progress through school life. (For futher information about the EYFS please visit parent information on the Early Years Foundation Stage on our website).
